Dear Colleague,

We're delighted to announce that in partnership with Historic England the University of Leicester has developed a project to deliver practical, technical and specialist skills for heritage professionals to meet the skills gaps identified within the sector. We will be offering a series of training and CPD courses which will enhance your practical skills and address those key areas which will help you develop your knowledge and career prospects.

Courses are individually tailored by leading practitioners in their fields and will cover a variety of topics including:

  • Post-war Architecture
  • Management of Digital Data
  • Statements of Significance
  • Setting & Development
  • Conservation of Rural Buildings
  • Understanding the Significance & Importance of Place
  • Landscape Archaeology

The courses will focus on the practical, technical and specialist skills needed by the workforce and will be delivered by staff from Historic England, the University of Leicester, and other experts including the Heritage Skills Centre at Lincoln Castle. The three-year programme will be wide-ranging and cover a variety of topics, informed by the needs of practitioners and the challenges identified by Historic England. Each course will have a limited number of spaces to ensure we provide a high degree of support and individually tailored attention to each student.
